Item: Dewalt DW997 Battery
Will tell you what I think of this Dewalt DW997 Battery when it comes back from service. It blew up in the first few hours of use. Stuck in hammer mode chuck seized with bit stuck in it and the batteries short out and died in less than 30 seconds. Worked great until it all went

Item: DeWalt DW621K 1/4" Plunge Router 1100w 240v
This small 1/4' plunge router is more suited for detailing and small work rather than rebating / mouldings and jointing. Many more passes are required to achieve the same results as a normal 1/2" router and would increase the likelihood of fatigue and subsequent mistakes. So... I tend to use this router where my (bread & butter) 1/2" router would be too big or heavy for the work I'm trying to achieve. I find it perfect for putting 3mm radii chamfers on square section timber before begining the ...

Item: Dewalt DW872 Metalica Chopsaw 240V
I have been using this Dewalt DW872 Metalica Chopsaw for cutting stainless steel sections (tube, flat etc.) and have found that; although the cut faces are a little rough and the trueness of angles a few degrees out here and there, it does cut well. I was expecting this from the saw and I was happily surprised at just how fast it cuts. Machine & cut set-up times are fast too. I never force the blade into the steel; just rest it on the metal and the blade does all the work. I can see that a ...

Item: Dewalt DW721K 230 Volt Radial Arm Saw
The Dewalt DW721K 230 Volt Radial Arm Saw easily requires 1.5m square of workshop space to sit in! Also when delivered it weighed in at 167kg. Since space is a premium, in my workshop at least, I fitted it up with some braked swivel castors from screwfix (75mm rubber tyres) fortunately the fixing holes lined up correctly in the top castor plates and the bottom of the legs. The main "unit" parts were pre-assembled, but the the leg-stand needed putting together, the motor, guard, blade, control ...

Item: Dewalt DW626 Plunge Router
This Dewalt DW626 Plunge Router powers through most jobs easily and accompanies my router table often. I do use it free hand on occasional, and here, it excels too. Being such a powerful router it removes stock fast and requires fewer passes than smaller routers. The soft start is very smooth for such a big machine and the fine adjuster fence is better than most. It's surprisingly comfortable and the weight adds a certain steadiness and consistency to the cuts. The electronic no load ...
